One concise inquiry, then materials by reply.
Lead with the work. Genre, length, and stage are useful. If attachments are needed, they come later in the thread.
SEXP — Original fiction, poetry, & novella
Original fiction, poetry, short stories, novellas, and hybrid work with genuine sentence pressure.
The press is interested in work that knows what tradition it is working in and why. Novella length is preferred. Longer manuscripts are considered when the length is earned. Short story collections are considered when the manuscript argues as a unified whole rather than arriving as a miscellany. Formal seriousness first. Positioning talk does not help.
Library of the Southern Civilization — Archival & reprint proposals
The press is looking for Southern texts that deserve recovery: out of print, underpublished, misfiled, or reduced to heritage display when they should still be alive. If you know of such a text, write with the case for it, the textual situation, and any rights or edition context you already know.
Translation — Spanish, French, & Russian
Literary translation, contemporary and historical. The press selects for formal and spiritual register, not cultural proximity or current marketability. Translators should have a stake in the text beyond professional assignment. Proposals should include a sample translation and a clear statement of method.
RICE Magazine
The journal line is planned but not yet open. When RICE begins taking work, that call will be announced directly. Until then, this page is for books, recovery proposals, and translation.
How to submit
Use the form below. Keep the inquiry concise: program, project type, approximate length, stage of completion, and what you are asking. If the fit is there, materials can follow in reply so the thread stays intact.
No attachments in the initial inquiry. Lead with the work, not the pitch around it. For rights, press, collaborations, or general correspondence, use Contact.
